Pakistan's left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has left for London to undergo treatment for a knee injury. The youngster has been ruled out of the 2022 Asia Cup after suffering a hamstring injury during the Test series against Sri Lanka.

Confirming that Bowling has traveled to England to undergo treatment with a knee specialist, PCB Chief Medical Officer Najeebullah Soomro said:

"Shahin Shah Afridi's knee requires a lot of specialist care around the clock and London offers some of the best medical facilities and sports care in the world. In the interest of the player, we decided to send him there."

PCB's Chief Medical Officer is confident the captain will regain his fitness for the 2022 T20 World Cup:

"The medical department will take daily feedback on his progress in London and we are confident that Shaheen will return to full fitness before the ICC Men's T20 World Cup."
