SRINAGAR: Humaira, an 18-year-old student of Khandawar School, won two gold medals in the Jammu and Kashmir Powerlifting and Deadlift Championship held in Jammu on September 19, 2022.

Humaira, a resident of IIT Colony Handwara, has won competitions in North Kashmir three times and won the 2021 Kashmir Powerlifting Championship.

Humaira lifted 235 kg in the competition. She said she has been a fitness trainer for over a year and has been training young girls.

The three-day championship, held at the Baghwati Nagar Indoor Stadium, saw Kashmiri participants bag 28 medals, including 16 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze in the men's and women's categories.
